The Second Edition, which includes 30 journal prompts and 30 adult coloring affirmations, is the same as the First Edition just with different images, affirmations, and prompts. It was created from my own healing journey, combining journaling, affirmations, and coloring as a way to move through anxiety, overwhelm, self-doubt, concussion recovery, and the transition into motherhood. These practices helped me find peace and reconnect with myself, and they built the foundation for everything that followed
The Kids Edition was born from seeing children naturally reach for these mindfulness tools when they watched their parents use them. With affirmation coloring pages illustrated by @hannah.sheridan.design, simple and meaningful gratitude prompts, conversations about feelings, and open-ended creative space, this journal gives kids their own way to explore emotional awareness and self-expression.
To ensure the book was grounded in real research and developmentally supportive practices, I partnered with Jennaca Cotton, Ed.D, a Professor of Education and expert in literacy, social-emotional learning, trauma-informed care, and educational psychology. Her expertise helped turn this edition into a resource for both children and the adults guiding them.
